Syracuse football recruiting: QB Will Levis commits to Penn State – Syracuse.com

Syracuse, N.Y. — A top quarterback target¬†for Syracuse football’s 2018 recruiting class committed to Penn State this weekend.

Xavier High School (Conn.) quarterback Will Levis participated in a camp Friday night at Penn State and announced his decision Saturday morning.

He had camped at Syracuse last month and solidified his spot near the top of the Orange’s recruiting board.

Levis’ recruitment started taking off in the spring, when he ran a 4.80-second 40-yard dash, a 4.10-second shuttle and scored the highest SPARQ score out of an impressive roster of campers at a clinic in New Jersey. (SPARQ drills measure overall athleticism: speed, power, agility, reaction and quickness).

Brother of Syracuse player headed to Penn State 

Penn State also landed a commitment this weekend from defensive line prospect Judge Culpepper, the younger brother of Syracuse quarterback Rex Culpepper.

The 6-foot-5, 260-pound prospect is also the son of former Florida All-American and NFL defensive tackle Brad Culpepper.
