Lincoln-Way High School revamps its finance committee – Chicago Tribune

Lincoln-Way High School will discontinue its Finance and Building Advisory Committee but provide other ways for community members to be involved, Superintendent Scott Tingley said.

The committee, comprised of board members, administrators, and eight community representatives, held its last meeting in April, canceled May and June sessions, and according to district policy was set to expire this month, he said, adding that he recommended the committee be ended.

The finance and building committee was created to put more eyes on the district’s finances, to consider potential uses for the North High School and sell land the district owned.

Lincoln-Way had been deficit spending for years and has been on the state’s financial watch list since 2015.
